The look of the Hooker Furniture Archivist 6 Drawer Chest is stately, classic, and perfect for your room. The body is crafted from solid rubberwood with birch veneers under a hand-applied, multi-step finish. The design features six drawers with plenty of storage space in those deep drawers. The hidden top drawer is felt-lined, just like the second and third drawers. The bottom drawer is cedar-lined to repel munching insects. Each drawer is constructed with dovetails and fitted with a pair of metal ring-pulls under an antique bronze finish. Choose from available finish options to make it yours.

Prized as an environmentally friendly wood, rubberwood makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle. The trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings. In the past, felled rubber trees were either burned on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing, or latex curing. Now the wood is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color, and acceptance of different finishes.

Maintenance & Care

We recommend dusting frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain. We recommend polishing your furniture approximately every six months using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth and rubbing the polish in the direction of the grain. Guardsman furniture polish or any furniture polish that doesn’t contain silicone is recommended.
